Petfest 2011 Review | Holroyd Gardens

Festival Girl Rates: 6/10

I am absolutely lovin’ this beautiful Sydney spring weather. It really has felt like the longest winter and it’s so nice to have the sun back. I have a real soft spot for animals – I just can’t get enough of them. So I think it makes a lot of sense to hold a festival like this for pet lovers to pamper their pooch and spend a day out together with other pet lovers.

With all the proceeds going to help the council help our local pets, it’s a great cause that aims to promote responsible pet ownership. All baby animals are cute, but you shouldn’t get an animal unless you are willing to put in the hard yards to look after them for their lifespan – which can often be at least a quarter of your life.

Things I love about the event?

  • Lots of free parking
  • Gold coin entry donation
  • Lots of free education seminars & entertainment
  • Lots of community engagement with cute Petfest Paperazzi for the kids and best in show awards

Things I don’t love? Why did the cat show finish at 1 pm? I was really bummed to get there, just having missed not only the cat show, but even seeing the cats at all. I know the flyer said 1 pm, but it would be nice to let the kitties stay out until the end of the show like all the other doggies.

How adorable is this blow up doggie. I want one.

On a beautiful Sunday morning – the sun is shining…

…and all the pets are being spoilt with a giant spritzing hose

Look at the little puddim. Apparently, this little cutie isn’t a puppy, but is actually 9 years old

This guy is so tall. I reckon his legs are longer than mine!

Look at the size of him. He is just massive!

Mr Bigglesworth!

Face painting for the kids

I loved the mini farm edition to the show – chicks, rabbits, goats, llamas, ducks

Daw the cutest pug

Uh oh – I think ol’ Bluey wants to eat Puggie

As featured last year, Gourmet Dog Biscuits & Treats

Just like my dog!

It’s Red Dog

I want a ferret!

Look at her little booties and matching denim dress. So cute!

After a long days work, it’s nice to take a break
