2013 marks the year of the Snake in the Chinese New Year Calendar representing a time for rebirth and transformation. As part of this year’s Lunar New Year Festival, Church Street Mall will be transformed into a Chinese New Year street celebration! The snaps in this post were taken from the 2011 Parramatta festival.
There will be plenty of interactive workshops to participate in. Take part in a drumming circle workshop with Drum4Fun between 4:30pm – 5:30pm, learn how to write your name in Chinese calligraphy, try your hand at origami, watch and learn some martial art techniques, make a fan, meet real live snakes, get your face painted or meet the fortune teller and find out your destiny (limited availability).
