Latin American Food Fiesta – Culinary Carnival 2013

UruguayanFestival56Culinary Carnivale is Western Sydney’s premier Spanish and Latin American food festival! The festival, which is part of The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Month presented by Citi, will liven up the Fairfield City Centre with Latin American music, entertainment and flavours on Saturday, 19 October 2013.

Miguel-250x376In an event first, celebrity Chef Miguel Maestre will be cooking up a storm at this year’s Culinary Carnivale!

Who doesn’t love Miguel? He is known around the country for his co-hosting role on the Channel Ten program The Living Room TV show on Channel Ten and lucky for us, he will be cooking four of his famous signature dishes including paella and churros. Yum!

In it’s third year, Culinary Carnivale is expecting to exceed last year’s record of 7000 visitors. Wow!

Fairfield really is the heart of Latino culture in Sydney, so if you’ve never had the pleasure to sample the cuisine, then this is for you.

The festival will take place in Fairfield City Centre’s Spencer St – I don’t think you will be able to miss it as the street will be transformed into a colourful street party! What should you expect? There be five-hours of Spanish and Latin American-inspired music and entertainment, the widespread smell of barbequing Asado meat and Chorizo al pan cooking and for those of you with a sweet tooth, there is bound to be a delicious assortment of bischocos and masas made with Dulce de leche (Caramel).

This event is free, family friendly and alcohol free. Download the flyer here.
